Brian Payea is the Head of Industry Relations for TripAdvisor, and is responsible for global educational and policy outreach to the travel industry.   He focuses on strengthening the ties between TripAdvisor and the hospitality community. His department builds tools for hotel brand management, hoteliers and other hospitality professionals to leverage the insights available from the wealth of traveler-contributed information on TripAdvisor and other social media.  Brian is a member of the HSMAI Americas board as well as the HSMAI Foundation board and the Allied Council at AH&LA.  He is a frequent speaker on the subject of social media in travel at industry events around the world.

Brian joined TripAdvisor in 2006.  Previously, he led public relations, marketing, government relations and investor relations at several technology and internet companies.  

Kate Rasmussen

Kate Rasmussen is one of HotelTonight’s earliest employees, joining the company in early 2011 as the very first Market Manager. In that capacity, she led the launch of over 20 new destinations throughout the USA before relocating to London as first on ground employee to support the launch of the European operations. She now serves as Director of Strategic Partnerships for HotelTonight, where she oversees the strategic direction of global partnerships with hotel chains, management companies and key accounts. Kate has never been known to turn down the opportunity for a last minute, spontaneous adventure, one of the many reasons why she and HotelTonight are so perfectly matched.

Prior to joining HotelTonight, Kate led the Search Team for Milestone Internet Marketing, a leading website design and marketing agency for hotels and resorts. She holds a BA from the University of San Diego, where she played Division 1 NCAA collegiate soccer.

Her love of Airbnb deepened after working with the community as an employee. She’s fostered the growth of the Customer Experience organization from a fresh-faced group to a mighty organization. When Hurricane Sandy hit NYC, she was instrumental in the company's response and continues to be involved with company efforts in this space. She currently resides in San Francisco and is the Customer Experience Operations manager at Airbnb Headquarters, with a focus on Social Media.

Immediately prior to joining Fareportal Steve was the General Manager – Digital for Billboard, the iconic music brand. At Billboard was responsible for all aspects of the digital business including: conceiving and creating new digital strategies and products to monetize Billboard’s digital footprint. This included leading the teams responsible for ad operations, social media, business intelligence and product development.
 
Prior to Billboard Steve co-Founded and serve as Chief Executive Officer of Beema Inc., a digital marketing company delivering advertising, social media, multimedia, interactive and animation products and services to companies that included: eBay, Applied Materials, Dreyfus Financial, Baxter Healthcare, The Gartner Group, Cisco, Simpson Strong-Tie and IDG among others.

Mark is a revenue management veteran with 14 years of experience specializing in the resort and gaming industries.  He spent the first 10 years of his career with the Venetian Resort in Las Vegas, helping to build the revenue management organization from the ground up and was ultimately responsible for all revenue management functions for both the Venetian and Palazzo resorts.  In 2011, Mark was named the Corporate Vice President of Revenue Management for Las Vegas Sands, and his role has not evolved to include Performance Management and Strategic Initiatives.  As the head of Revenue Management for Las Vegas Sands, Mark is responsible for more than $1B USD in annual hotel revenues. 
Julie Hoffman

Hoffmann joined MGM Resorts International in 2010 as the Director of Interactive Marketing for CityCenter. Most recently, she held the position of Director of Marketing where she worked with property executives and operational departments to provide strategic marketing solutions. These initiatives spanned organic/paid media, on-property technology and traditional marketing integration.  She launched MGM Resorts’ first responsive design website ARIALasVegas.com seeking to accommodate consumer shifts to mobile devices.

Prior to joining MGM Resorts International, Julie held the leadership position of Corporate Director of Internet Marketing for Caesars Entertainment responsible for the digital strategy for over a decade. During her tenure, she implemented a digital marketing platform that serviced 40 resorts nationwide with revenue streams of $150M+. Julie has19 years’ leadership in leisure travel and beverage sales industries, developing marketing initiatives via strategic planning with a core focus on the customer experience.  She brings a deep and comprehensive skill set as well as overall expertise across the digital space.

Jonathan is the Director of Analytics and Insights for the Wyndham Hotels Group.  His team provides guidance for the CMO, his eCommerce organization and Wyndham Hotels as a whole.

After graduating from Kellogg with an MBA in Decision Sciences, Marketing, Finance and Strategy, Jonathan was hired by Sabre to release its first cruise booking tool and the cruise industry’s first API.  He then grew Sabre’s travel agency web booking engine group into a multi-million-dollar profit center.  

Travelocity hired him as Manager of Analytics for the Air line of business, where his team used site metrics to identify and correct user experience problems.  He then managed Travelocity’s A/B testing group, automating the testing process and quadrupling test throughput, resulting in $13M in incremental profits.  He then became its Director of Marketing Analysis, implementing ROI-based  channel spend monitoring and chairing the weekly Channel & LOB meetings in which Travelocity’s $100 million marketing budget was allocated and its tactics were tuned.

His current areas of focus include marketing channel attribution, social media data mining and the use of consumer data to improve personalization and retargeting.

Amy has 11+ years’ experience in digital marketing and started off her career in publishing with Reed Business Information where she helped facilitate the setup of their online marketing activities specially focused on lead generation, eMail & SEO. She then moved to another publishing house, Tango Media, where she lead all aspects of audience development including SEM, social media and remarketing. She later joined Wyndham Hotel Group’s eCommerce team as the Global Director of SEO, running organic and local search.  Following,  Amy moved within Wyndham Worldwide into a new position as the Senior Director of eCommerce for Wyndham Vacation Rentals, where she lead all digital efforts including SEO, local search, paid media, user experience, affiliate, eMail marketing & analytics.  She’s now in her third role at Wyndham Worldwide, back at Wyndham Hotel Group as the Senior Director of Innovation. In this role she liaisons between business and IT to help identify innovation opportunities and create efficiencies through technology, in an effort to improve the experience for Wyndham’s guests, employees and hotel owners.

Amy holds a BA in English and an MBA in Management from Rutgers University. She enjoys spending time with her husband, family, friends and her dog Lady, in addition to watching The Golden Girls.

Brooke Brooks

Since 2000, Brooke has been designing great user experiences for various software applications and the web.  The last 10 years have been in the digital travel space, working for Hotels.com, Travelocity and Southwest Airlines.  

Brooke is currently the Lead Information Architect for Southwest Airlines.  Her team provides usability counsel and technical artifacts to a variety of internal customers, including technology, marketing and ground operations.

Travelocity presented a number of large projects for Brooke, including site redesign, SEO, UI component library and accessibility compliance.

At Hotels.com, Brooke played a role in a site redesign, architected a low fare calendar touted as “best in industry” and as part of a skunkworks team, helped architect the first ever travel app in the iTunes store.

In between architecting better user experiences, Brooke stays busy with twin teens, car shows, cooking competitions and lots of travel.

Chris Amenechi is currently the VP of Revenue Management for Porter Airlines. In this role he is charged with driving significant improvements in enterprise revenue via new ancillary and digital streams and optimizing the current base. Chris is also the former Vice President eCommerce, Merchandising, and Distribution for United, the world’s leading airline. He was responsible for leading, developing, and managing United’s eCommerce platforms, distribution strategy, Merchandizing strategy, direct to consumer business, and ancillary revenue business. Amenechi started his airline career with Continental in 1993 as a Senior Analyst in the Domestic Revenue Management group and held various positions of increasing authority. His former positions include Director of Pricing and Revenue Management of Continental Micronesia, Director of Asia-Pacific Pricing and Revenue Management and Reservations, and Managing Director of Asia–Pacific/Latin Pricing and Revenue Management. He led the efforts to introduce Africa to the Continental map as the Managing Director of Nigeria/Africa based in Lagos and returned to Houston to focus on International eCommerce and Distribution. He went on to establish and lead the Merchandising and eCommerce practice at Continental. With over 14 years of experience in eCommerce, Marketing and Digital Strategy, Jen Abboud-Smith recently joined Apple Leisure Group as Director of Digital Strategy. Jen’s rich background in site optimization, digital marketing, merchandising, and analytics stems from experience in Higher Education, Retail and now the Travel industry. Recently, Jen was responsible for developing a segmentation and personalization roadmap with a large multi-channel retailer, which involved identifying the stages of evolution that most organizations go through in developing a personalized customer experience, as well as an assessment of the technical ecosystem needed to support enterprise-level cross-channel personalization.

 

As Director of Digital Strategy with Apple Leisure Group, Jen leads the teams responsible for Customer Acquisition, Engagement and Retention, across the Customer Experience Journey: Acquisition through Digital Marketing and Media Buying, Engagement through Digital Merchandising and Content, and Retention/Loyalty through Email Marketing. Additionally, Jen’s responsibilities include the Digital Analytics team, which enables the Digital Strategy group to effectively identify high performing partnerships and campaigns, as well as optimize toward the most successful and relevant messaging and vehicles for customers.

Michael Weiss

As a seasoned professional in eCommerce, marketing and product management, Michael has created unique business opportunities and has driven profitability within several industries, including hospitality, health & wellness, software and retail.

Most recently, Michael serves as Director of Online Retail for Marriott International.  For the past three years, Michael’s effective marketing and business relationships have been primary contributors to the significant growth in program revenues.  His responsibilities include managing vendors, designing online marketing campaigns, maintaining the promotional strategy and building external and internal partnerships.

Previously, Michael served as Director for MGM Resorts International’s Online Marketing Group.  Michael managed the company’s domestic online marketing campaigns for its world-class hotels including Bellagio, Mirage, ARIA, MGM Grand and others.  Michael's creative leadership, utilizing display marketing, SEM, SEO, social media, strategic partnerships and ecommerce, produced over $100 million dollars in annual revenue.

Prior to working for MGM Resorts International, Michael developed online marketing strategies for Internet startups such as eDiets and Barpoint.com, and leading companies such as Office Depot and Electronic Data Systems.

Michael has participated in several interactive marketing associations and currently sits on the board of the Ataway Exchange and The Digital Travel Summit- a leading conference focusing on digital strategies and tactics for travel professionals. He has spoken at industry conferences such as eTail East and eTail Brasil on various ecommerce topics.

Mark Bloxham started overseas at an early age, and quickly moved through the ranks to become the UK based Overseas Manager for JMC (The Tour Operator Brand for Thomas Cook) Controlling over 1700 overseas staff and 1200 airline crew.

To further his career he re-qualified through the Chartered Institute of Marketing, a career move that he has never looked back from.

Leaving the Travel industry in 2001, mark joined the world’s largest recruitment company Adecco as Marketing Director UK and spent five years working in the UK, US and Switzerland, culminating in a global Brand Directors role.

With International experience, he joined the Washington post Group, and worked for a period of time between the UK / US rebranding the UK training organization, during one of the largest transitions as the Washington Post group evolved into being primarily an education brand.

Mark returned to the UK, and a return to the Leisure industry, joining (DMGT) the Daily Mail group to manage the travel brand marketing. His main successes came from the rebirth of a historic UK travel aggregator, into a complete digital media site, and the eventual MBO from the parent organization.

Mark joined James Villas a part of the Wyndham Vacation Rentals company in June 2013 as Marketing Director, supporting a period of dynamic strategic change within the organization. He led the creative change of the brand and sister company Villas4You culminating in a second record breaking year for the organization.

Promoted to Managing Director in 2014, Mark leads a team of a 140 staff and a company with aggressive growth strategies.

After graduating from Oakland University, Mark joined Ideas Collide Marketing Communications, a full service digital agency, where he spent several years supporting various hospitality brands in an agency role.  He developed extensive experience running brand social media efforts and innovative in-lobby engagement technologies. 

Choice Hotels International hired him as the Director of Digital Performance.  In this role, he built a program and team of analysts that work one-on-one with hoteliers to focus on areas of digital measurement and optimization.  With this team, he is able to move the needle on brand efforts at the individual property level via accelerated paid/organic search, engagement efforts, and social media.

Edward Perry, MBA is a Senior Director at Worldhotels. In his position, he works with customers to maximize their business potential through areas of such as e-commerce, social media and revenue optimization.

Edward is a Secretary on the Board of the Hotel Electronic Distribution Network Association (HEDNA). He pens EyeforTravel’s Social Media and Marketing column. Edward is also the Co-Chair of Online Revealed, Canada’s largest digital marketing and social media conference.

Ms. Brant has worked with Dorchester Collection since June 2010, serving first as the quality and productivity manager for The New York Palace to then become area director of quality and productivity for The Beverly Hills Hotel and Hotel Bel-Air; playing a key role during the reopening of Hotel Bel-Air. For the last couple of years, Ana has held the role of director of organisational performance, working alongside each property to ensure operational implementation of all targeted goals.
Prior to joining Dorchester Collection, Ms. Brant began her career with The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, serving most recently as area quality analyst at the company’s corporate office from 2009 to mid-2010. Other positions included guest relations and quality manager, and market research analyst, at The Ritz-Carlton, Boston, from 2005 to 2009.
A native of Croatia, Ms. Brant earned both a Bachelor’s of Science Degree/Hotel and Resort Management, and a Master’s of Science Degree/Service Leadership and Innovation, from the Rochester Institute of Technology. She also perused a professional development certification in Strategic Leadership from Cornell University.
